Day-by-Day Details & Itinerary

Day 1  – Arrive Panama City
You can fly into Panama City on direct flights from Miami, FL; Houston, TX; or Atlanta, GA. Expect VIP treatment at Tocumen International Airport. When you arrive, simply look for the sign with your name on it, and you’ll be escorted to the VIP Lounge. Our representative will take care of your entry, luggage, and customs and then arrange for your transport to the luxurious Intercontinental Miramar. The afternoon is free for you to relax and explore on your own.
We’ll meet in the early evening for a welcome cocktail and dinner. There you’ll meet your on-the-ground guide, Gail Geerling of Success In Central America. A brief investment seminar will give you an introduction to the market in Panama.

Intercontinental Miramar Hotel Panama

Panoramic views of both the old and the modern city, coupled with an excellent location in the banking district and its proximity to the Atlapa Convention Center, make this hotel the best destination in town.  InterContinental Miramar Panama epitomizes the capital’s cosmopolitan style with a striking tower in the financial district. Views of the Pacific Ocean showcase vessels coming through the Panama Canal, which is only eight kilometers (five miles) away. The main shopping malls, Atlapa Convention Centre and Casco Viejo (the old city) are also nearby.

Day 2 – Panama City and environs
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a morning city tour to include Ancon Hill, Casco Viejo, and the Gehry Museum of Biodiversity. We’ll have time for coffee and a snack along the way. And then we’ll lunch as a group at the Miraflores Locks on the Panama Canal. We’ll return to the hotel in the late afternoon and then meet for dinner at a restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. We’ll hear from more local experts this evening, when you’ll learn about offshore structures, legal regulations, privacy, and asset protection in Panama. Overnight at the Intercontinental Miramar.

Pearl IslandsDay 3 – Pearl Islands
After breakfast we’ll leave for the Pearl Islands, where we’ll spend the day enjoying the turquoise waters and soft white sands of these Pacific islands. This is the Hamptons of Panama… but we’ll show you how – and where – you can own your own island retreat for a fraction of what the elite typically pay. We’ll have lunch in the islands. And at the end of the day we’ll fly back to Panama City and head to the Intercontinental once again. Dinner is at an exclusive local restaurant. We’ll talk this evening about the Pearl Island experience and compare and contrast the properties there with what we will see during the rest of the trip. Overnight at the Intercontinental Miramar.

Day 4 – Bocas del Toro, Caribbean
Breakfast at the Intercontinental Miramar and check out. Transfer to the domestic airport for our morning flight to Bocas del Toro, to see one of Panama’s most unique locations.  Until recently, Bocas del Toro was a sleepy cluster of islands, but with the arrival of Panama’s first true 5-star fractional destination resort, the area is starting to see a resurgence.  We’ll visit the site of this resort, and discuss some typical property issues in the area and how to avoid them.
While we’re in Bocas, we’ll learn how real estate markets emerge and how to track them.  We’ll also discuss the advantages and challenges of buying property and doing business in Panama- with tips for the best ways to succeed.

Day 5 – Caribbean Coast and Gamboa Rainforest Resort
After breakfast, we’ll fly back to Panama City and head immediately to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. Spend the day at your leisure with a rainforest canopy tour, spa visit, or whatever strikes your fancy. We’ll have dinner as a group and discuss what factors help determine an area’s growth or stagnation and then talk about how specific regions of Panama stack up.
The Gamboa Rainforest Hotel (with spa) is a luxury resort built in the middle of a rainforest jungle on the banks of the Chagres River, near the Panama Canal. Here there’s an aerial tram that can take you, with a guide, through the forest canopy. This is one of the best bird watching spots in the world. (www.gamboaresort.com)

Day 6 – The Caribbean Coast
Breakfast at Gamboa and then head out to Panama’s Caribbean coast.  We will visit Portobelo, rich with pirate history and an historic UNESCO World Heritage site.  We’ll be among the first to tour an early property opportunity in this area, and we’ll learn what areas of the Caribbean coast are likely to hold value better than others- and why.  We will also meet with an innovative European developer and learn what it takes to open a market, and how to look for value when purchasing land.
Return to Gamboa for dinner and overnight.  Q&A and a unique investment offering as well as information on Panama’s Stock Exchange and listed investments. El Valle

Day 7 – El Valle and Coronado
After breakfast, we’ll drive to El Valle, a bright mountain community where the weather is spring-like year-round.   Along the way we will drive through 2-3 pockets of undervalued land in this popular area, and we’ll visit a resort area near the city of Coronado. Close to Panama City, this is a popular – and pretty – beach retreat. We’ll have lunch along the way and return in the late afternoon head to the Intercontinental Miramar.  We’ll have cocktails and dinner as a group, wrap-up our discussions of Panama, and reconnect with our contacts in the city. Overnight at the Intercontinental Miramar.

Day 8 – Fly home or Optional Add-on
Breakfast will be served at the Intercontinental Miramar. And then we’ve arranged for your transport back to the International Airport. If you’d like to extend your stay, however, you’re more than welcome to. We’d be happy to help you plan additional excursions or simply arrange for an extended visit in Panama City. Simply let us know.
